Great Blue Heron on Nest

It was nesting season, and the herons were busy.  The males were flying in with sticks for the nest, the females would take the sticks and carefully choose a place to put it to improve the nest.  This female was waiting for her sweetie to return with more nesting materials.  I watched from a safe distance with my lens at 600mm (as long as it could go), being careful not to go any closer since I didn’t want to disturb the nesting couple.
